Votrite uses phenol-free thermal paper. This type of thermal paper works just the same way with those that contain BPA or BPS: it’s resistant to heat, so it doesn’t burn during the printing process. BPA + BPS Free – Made in USA

Ink on this paper does not fade for 7 years. Thermal paper products should be stored in a dark place at a relative humidity between 45 % and 65 % and a temperature below 25°C to assure satisfactory performance for at least three years from the date of manufacture. Thermal paper is made with a special heat-sensitive coating that allows for inkless printing. When heat (from a thermal paper printer) is applied to the coating, the result is a sharp black image without the need for ink or ribbons.
